At a press conference, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Osman Aziz said this year there were 52,015 applications for refunds with 34,353 applications from around Kuala Lumpur.

When the WTD Registrar is satisfied that the applicant is the rightful owner, the Registrar will pay the Applicant the Withdrawal Amount from the Consolidated Trust Account or Consolidated Income Account.
The applicant must satisfy the WTD Registrar that he is the legal owner or has legal rights over the WTD.
